What VCT actually is, before anything else
VCT stands for Vanilla Custard Tobacco, and it is a tobacco flavour. That needs saying first and plainly, because ELFBAR’s own listing shows nothing but three letters: no expansion, no description, no indication of any kind that there is tobacco in it.
A customer scrolling a shelf of mangoes and watermelons has nothing on the label to go on. It is the only tobacco on the Trio shelf: ELFBAR sell others in this catalogue, including a Tobacco on the ELFBAR BC10000 and Snoow Tobacco in the ELFBAR ELFLIQ 10ml range, but this is the only one in either Trio slate.
Flavour profile
VCT names a layered dessert built on a tobacco backbone: a smooth, rounded tobacco, vanilla over it for warmth, and custard supplying a pastry-cream richness at the finish. Those three components are what the initials promise wherever you meet them.
That promise is also the honest limit of what can be said here. ELFBAR publish nothing about how their version is built, and no description of this particular liquid exists anywhere, so what follows is the recipe the name stands for and not a tasting note for this device.
Where it sits between a plain tobacco and the fruits around it
Two comparisons place it. Against a straight tobacco liquid, it is the sweeter of the two, because the vanilla and custard are doing real work. Against the fruits, sweets and mint that make up the rest of both slates, it is much drier, and it carries no menthol at all, so it will not read as cold the way most of this shelf does.
VCT is also an industry standard. Unrelated companies have been making versions of it for years, so if you have vaped a VCT before, this is the same category of flavour. What nobody can tell you is how ELFBAR’s compares with the one you tried, because they have published nothing about it.
The three dials on a tobacco dessert
Leave the icy dial at the bottom. Menthol is not conventionally part of a VCT blend, and nothing describes any in this one, so anything you add there fights the custard.
The sweet dial is the one that earns its keep, since the whole balance of the flavour turns on how far forward the dessert sits against the leaf.
Who this is actually for
It suits anyone who wants a tobacco rather than a fruit, and anyone who has vaped for years and wants a break from sweets. This is the Sweet edition, so the nicotine is set on the device across three levels. Like the rest of the range, it is aimed at established smokers and vapers, not at anyone new to it.
It is also the flavour least like the other nineteen, which cuts both ways: nothing on either slate prepares you for it, and no amount of dial adjustment will turn it into a fruit. If tobacco is not what you are after, this is the one page in the twenty where the flavour name is the wrong guide and the description is the only guide.
Practical notes
On a device rated to forty thousand puffs, an unfamiliar profile is a long commitment, and in Kenya a tobacco vape is a rarer thing on a shelf than a mango one.
Where it sits in the range
The only flavour on either slate that is not a fruit, a confection or a mint, and the warmest thing in the collection. At the opposite end sits Miami Mint ELFBAR Trio Sweet Disposable Vape 40000 Puffs, which is the coldest. See all twenty in the ELFBAR Trio 40000 range.
Buying considerations
The one flavour here for somebody who does not want fruit at all. Vapesoko Nairobi delivers the same day inside Nairobi and the towns around it, and in 1 to 2 business days elsewhere in Kenya by courier.
