5200mAh, not 6000. At 7.5A, this is a runtime cell rather than a mod cell, and the arithmetic is set out below. For a mod run hard, the Efest IMR 18650 3000mAh 20A Battery is the strongest cell currently on this shelf, though it too falls short of what a Drag X3 or an Armour Max asks at full power.
This is a high-energy cell, not a high-drain one. LG built it for runtime (torches, power banks, e-bikes, energy storage) and the datasheet figures reflect that. LG band the discharge limit by temperature: 15A between ten and twenty-five degrees, and 7.5A from twenty-five to fifty-five. Since a cell in a mod in Nairobi spends most of its working life in the warmer band, 7.5A is the figure this page uses throughout.

A genuinely excellent cell, built for a different job
The LG INR21700-M52V is a real LG part with a published datasheet behind it, and it is very good at what it was designed for. Five thousand two hundred milliamp-hours typical, a documented cycle life holding eighty-six per cent of its energy after five hundred charges, and a nominal voltage of three point six nine volts.
What it was designed for is runtime at modest current. LG’s high-energy 21700 line goes into e-bikes, power banks, torches and stationary storage, applications that draw a few amps for a long time rather than thirty amps in bursts.
What 7.5 amps supports, in watts
The standard sum applies here as everywhere: amps, times cells, times three point two volts, times nought point nine. A single cell of this type supports around twenty-two watts. A pair supports around forty-three.
Those are real, usable figures for a low-power device. They are also a long way below what the three mods in the Vapesoko range are rated for, and it is more useful to say so than to leave a customer to discover it.
For comparison, a single cell driving eighty watts is being asked for around twenty-eight amps, and two cells driving two hundred and twenty want about thirty-eight apiece. This cell is at a quarter of the first figure and a fifth of the second.
Where it genuinely belongs
Read this list as a positive statement rather than a set of exclusions. Five thousand two hundred milliamp-hours is a great deal of runtime, and at low current this cell will deliver it for hundreds of cycles. There is real use for a cell like this in Kenya. It is simply not in a mod at eighty watts.
Three capacity figures circulate for this cell. One is right
You will see this cell listed at six thousand milliamp-hours, at five thousand two hundred and at five thousand, sometimes on the same page. Only one of the three is the figure LG publish.
Five thousand two hundred is the typical capacity, and it is right there in the part number: LG name these cells by capacity, so M52 means five thousand two hundred, exactly as M50 means five thousand. The five thousand figure in the description is close to the datasheet minimum of about four thousand nine hundred and seventy, which is a defensible number but confusing alongside the other.
Six thousand is simply wrong. LG’s 21700 range tops out in the M50, M50LT and M52V family at between four thousand eight hundred and fifty and five thousand two hundred milliamp-hours. There has never been a six thousand milliamp-hour LG 21700.
The clean wording is five thousand two hundred typical, with a datasheet minimum of four thousand nine hundred and seventy. That is accurate, complete and removes the contradiction.
Charging it
LG publish real numbers for this one: a standard charge current of one and a half amps and a maximum of three and a half. Charging at the standard rate rather than the maximum is kinder to the cell and asks nothing of you but a little patience.
Charge to four point two volts and no further, discharge no lower than two and a half, and use a charger with independent bays and an automatic cut-off. Indoors, hard surface, not unattended overnight.
The same physical care as any lithium cell
Sixty-seven grams of cell in a thin plastic wrap, with a live metal case and an insulator ring at the positive end doing the work of keeping them apart. Check both before every insertion.
Re-wrap a damaged sleeve properly rather than taping it. Retire a cell that has been dropped hard or dented. Carry loose cells in a plastic case and never alongside coins or keys.
Reading a datasheet rather than a wrap
The useful habit this cell teaches is to look for the part number and find the datasheet, rather than trusting what is printed on the outside. LG do not host a public consumer datasheet (it circulates through authorised distributors, which is normal for their cells), but it exists, and it is specific.
That is the difference between a cell from a company that manufactures cells and a rewrap such as the Efest IMR 18650 3000mAh 20A Battery, whose real figure had to be established on a bench. The figure is documented, temperature-banded, and consistent with independent modelling. It is simply a lower figure than a vaper usually wants.
