The resistance and the capacity are usually printed on the cartridge body or stamped into its base: that marking identifies the part far more reliably than the name of the device it came out of.
Five and a half millilitres for an eighty-watt pod mod
The IPX 80 was SMOK’s water-resistant pod mod, built around a large pod and enough power to run a 0.16 ohm coil properly. This is its cartridge: five and a half millilitres, bottom filling under a silicone stopper, sold in threes.
It is an empty pod. No coil is fitted, and none is supplied, which is the arrangement across the whole RPM family and the thing most likely to cause a wasted order.
The coils that go in it
SMOK RPM 2 Replacement Coils, in one of three resistances. The 0.16 ohm mesh at twenty-five to fifty watts is the full-output option; the 0.25 ohm dual coil covers similar power with a tighter draw and better life; the 0.6 ohm at twelve to twenty-five watts turns the device into something closer to a pod kit.
That third option is worth knowing about. A five-and-a-half-millilitre pod running a mouth-to-lung coil at fifteen watts will go a very long way between refills.
One device, and no exceptions
SMOK list the IPX 80 pod series against the IPX 80 alone, and that is confirmed rather than inferred. If you have one in Kenya, this pod and its sibling are the only two that will fit it. It is one of the shortest fitment lists anywhere in the Vapesoko range.
Two pods, one device, and a difference you cannot see
SMOK made two pods for the IPX 80. Both are five and a half millilitres. Both are empty. Both look nearly identical once they have been used a few times. One takes RPM coils, and the other takes RPM 2 coils, and the coil bases are different sizes.
The difference is in the size of the coil base, and it is small enough to be invisible and large enough to matter. Put the wrong coil in and it will either not seat or sit loose enough to leak and lose contact.
The practical advice is simple. Keep the pods labelled the moment you work out which is which; a marker pen on the base is enough, and check the packet before ordering coils, because the pod in your hand is the only thing that decides.
A separate point: the RPM 2 and RPM 2S devices, despite the name, use a seven-millilitre pod of their own and nothing from this page fits them.
Assembling a fresh pod
Wet the coil cotton through the side ports, press it firmly into the pod base until it seats, fill through the bottom stopper and replace it. Then leave the filled pod standing for ten minutes. There is a great deal of cotton under five and a half millilitres of liquid, and it needs time to take it up.
Start at twenty-five watts on the 0.16 ohm rather than the fifty it will take. Working up over the first fill is what gets a coil to last a fortnight instead of three days.
When to replace the pod itself
SMOK publish no pod life figure. A pod on this platform is a durable part and should outlast several coils.
Change it when the plastic crazes, when the bottom stopper stops gripping, or when a new coil in that pod still leaks. Cloudy plastic on its own is cosmetic, caused by sweeteners and menthol rather than wear.
What to put in five and a half millilitres
On the 0.16 and 0.25 ohm coils, a 70/30 freebase at three milligrams. Past forty watts, a stronger liquid turns harsh very quickly, and the Doozy 100ml and pre-mixed Ultimate Puff 120ml bottles are the right size for a pod this large.
On the 0.6 ohm coil, the answer flips to a 50/50 nicotine salt at twenty milligrams, and that combination is where a pod this large goes furthest between refills.
