RPM, RPM 2 and RPM 3 are three different coils, and none fit in another family pod. Check the pod in your hand, not the name on the device. The other two are SMOK RPM 2 Replacement Coils and SMOK RPM 3 Replacement Coils.

The widest fitment list SMOK ever built
RPM is the platform that made SMOK’s pod range coherent. Twenty-two devices take it, spread across the RPM, Nord, IPX, Thallo, SCAR, Fetch and Morph lines, and SMOK have kept manufacturing the coils long after most of those devices left production: precisely because so many are still in circulation, Kenya included.
Seven coils, from a 0.3 ohm mesh built oddly for a mouth-to-lung draw up to a 1.2 ohm quartz, plus a rebuildable deck for people who prefer to wind their own.
A range that covers both draw styles properly
The 0.4 ohm mesh and the 0.6 ohm triple coil are the restricted-lung half of the family and want twenty-five watts or so. The 0.8, 1.0 and 1.2 ohm coils are the mouth-to-lung half and run comfortably in the low teens.
The 0.3 ohm mesh sits outside that logic. It is the lowest resistance here, and SMOK still label it MTL, which is unusual. The intent is a warm, dense mouth-to-lung draw rather than a wide one. It is the coil to try if a 0.8 ohm feels thin but a lung draw is not what you want.
The quartz 1.2 ohm is the outlier at the other end, and a pack of them is an easy thing to try.
Where this coil turns up
Note how many entries in the list above are qualified by a pod name. Eleven of these devices shipped with more than one pod, and only the RPM one takes a coil from this page.
RPM, RPM 2 and RPM 3 are three walls, not three tiers
The numbers suggest a progression where each generation improves on the last and the parts broadly carry over. They do not. RPM, RPM 2 and RPM 3 are three physically different coils, and the seat each one drops into is a different diameter from family to family.
RPM 4 is a fourth complication, because SMOK used the name twice. The RPM 4 kit runs RPM and LP2 coils; separately, there is a later coil called RPM 4, at 0.15 and 0.6 ohm, which serves the Nord 6. Same two words, two unrelated things.
If you are shopping for a Nord 5, none of this applies. That device is on RPM 3, and the correct part is SMOK RPM 3 Replacement Coils. SMOK also make sub-ohm tank coils such as SMOK TFV18 Mini Mesh Replacement Coils, which are a different category again and share nothing with any pod coil here.
Getting a new coil wet before you fire it
Liquid into the side ports until the cotton is visibly soaked, press the coil home in the empty pod, fill, then wait five minutes. The 0.3 and 0.4 ohm mesh coils benefit from longer.
The RBA is a different exercise. Wick it as you would any rebuildable, keep the cotton legs trimmed short enough not to choke the juice channels, and dry-burn gently to check for hot spots before wicking.
Lifespan, and a straight answer about the numbers
SMOK publish no figure. Not for this family, not for any of them, in any unit. If you see millilitres or puffs quoted for an RPM coil, that number is not SMOK’s.
The RBA is the exception to the whole question. Rewicked with fresh cotton, it goes on more or less indefinitely, which is why it still sells on a platform this old.
Salt or freebase, decided by the ohm
From 0.8 ohm upwards, you want a 50/50 nicotine salt, at twenty milligrams from the BAR Salts 10ml or ELFBAR ELFLIQ 10ml shelves. If thirty-five milligrams is what a heavier habit needs, that is where the Nasty Burst Nic Salt 30ml range begins.
At 0.4 ohm and below, you are moving enough liquid that twenty milligrams becomes uncomfortable. Ten is the better number, or a three-milligram freebase if you are running the 0.4 ohm mesh on a device that can push it.
