What Koko means, and what it does not
Koko is UWELL’s word for a compact box shape, where the rest of the Caliburn line runs tall and thin. It has appeared across generations; there have been Koko versions of several Caliburns going back to the original, and it carries no meaning at all about the pod system.
So a Koko is not a separate ecosystem. This one uses the same GPP cartridges as the three other G-series devices on this shelf. What you are choosing is how it sits in a hand and a pocket, not what it takes to keep running.
The only pod kit that tells you what wattage its cartridge wants
The wattage band for every cartridge resistance, printed in full: nineteen to thirty-five watts at 0.4 ohm, thirteen to twenty-five at 0.6, nine to fifteen at 0.9, six to eleven at 1.2. UWELL publishes those numbers on this model’s page and not on the pages of the three other GPP devices here, even though they apply to all four.
Because the bands apply to GPP generally, this page is the reference for the whole platform. What is particular to this device is the one-watt step: the UWELL Caliburn G4 Pod Kit 1300mAh 35W and UWELL Caliburn G4 Pro Pod Kit 1800mAh 35W can reach the same numbers, but this is the one you can land on them precisely with.
A display that animates rather than instructs
UWELL markets the Starlit Ocean display as their first pod system with a starlit screen. It is mostly decorative, an animated marine visual, but it does carry a battery percentage and the current mode alongside, and it switches off entirely if you would rather it did not.
That is a different proposition from the touchscreen on the UWELL Caliburn G4 Pro Pod Kit 1800mAh 35W, which is an interface. This is closer to a watch face.
Top airflow, and what it changes
Airflow enters from the top on this model instead of the side, adjusted by a slider, and UWELL rates the range from mouth to lung through to restricted lung. Top airflow tends to keep condensation away from the base of the cartridge, which is the usual place a pod device leaks, and a warm pocket in Kenya thins liquid enough to make that a real rather than theoretical difference.
One caveat worth carrying: whether this device also fires on the draw, or only on the button, is not settled. UWELL describes a side-mounted button; claims of draw activation also circulate. Assume the button.
Reading the bands to pick a strength
Salt at 50/50, starting at twenty milligrams on the tight cartridges and ten as you open up. The published bands make that judgement easier here than anywhere else on the shelf. One bottle, run at 0.4 ohm and thirty-five watts, delivers a very different quantity of nicotine from the same bottle at 1.2 ohm and eight, and this is the device that puts both numbers in front of you and lets you set one of them by the watt.
Both the 10ml and 30ml bottles on the Nicotine Salts shelf suit it. On a device you charge twice a week rather than twice a day, the 30ml bottle is the one that matches the rhythm.
What UWELL leaves out
No dimensions and no cartridge capacity on UWELL’s page. Capacity in particular is a market split, not a model fact: GPP cartridges come at three millilitres and 2.5 for most markets and two millilitres for the UK and EU.
The airflow on this model is occasionally described as fixed. UWELL says otherwise on their own page, and two other independent listings agree with UWELL. That one is simply wrong.
A box among pens
It is the only box-format pod kit here and the only one that steps in single watts. Against the UWELL Caliburn G5 Lite SE Pod Kit 1600mAh, 35W, it has the same cell and the same ceiling but gives you the controls the Lite SE deliberately withholds.
Against the VAPORESSO XROS 5 Pod Kit 1500mAh 30W, it trades much faster charging for finer power control and a different pod platform.
The first fill, and finding the right watt
A 0.6 ohm cartridge ships with the kit. Fill it, leave it five minutes, and take two or three unfired draws before switching on. The coil is sealed inside the cartridge, so a dry first puff finishes the cartridge.
Then use the thing this device does better than the others: set the power inside UWELL’s published band for that resistance, thirteen to twenty-five watts on a 0.6, and move a watt at a time from there. Most people settle within three.
