A touchscreen, and whether you want one
A 2.51-inch touchscreen on a pod kit is either the point of the device or a reason to buy something else, and there is not much middle ground. What it buys you is a real interface: eight languages, a naming field so the device says something other than a model number, brightness and timeout controls, and three of its six themes locked behind puff-count milestones.
Underneath it is the same platform as the UWELL Caliburn G4 Pod Kit 1300mAh 35W with a much bigger cell. Thirty-five watts, GPP cartridges, four resistances. The Pro is not more powerful. It is more of a device with the same engine.
Custom mode is the feature nothing else here has
Storm and Waves are preset output curves. Custom lets you set the output separately at the start, the middle, and the end of a single puff: a ramp, a plateau, a fade, whichever suits the cartridge you have fitted.
No other pod kit here offers that. The only comparable control on this shelf is F(t) mode on the VAPORESSO Armour Max Mod Kit 220W Dual Battery, which is a 220-watt box mod on external cells, a different proposition entirely. On something that fits a shirt pocket, this is unusual enough to be the reason to choose it.
Stepless airflow, and what it replaces
The Pro swaps the standard G4’s notched slider and reversible cartridge for a stepless airflow control. There is nothing to click into place; you move it until it feels right and leave it there.
That is a genuine trade-off and not a straight upgrade. Stepless is finer; the flip-the-cartridge approach on the G4 gives you two distinct settings you can return to exactly.
The same cartridge as three other devices here
The consumable is the UWELL Caliburn GPP Replacement Pods cartridge, at 0.4, 0.6, 0.9, or 1.2 ohm. UWELL states that upgraded GPP cartridges fit the Caliburn G3 series and everything after it, which on this shelf means this device, the standard G4, the UWELL Caliburn G5 Koko Pod Kit 1600mAh 3,5W and the UWELL Caliburn G5 Lite SE Pod Kit 1600mAh 35W.
UWELL publishes a target band for each of those resistances, and the spread between the lowest and the highest is roughly six-fold. On a device with this much screen, it is easy to set a number the fitted cartridge cannot carry, and the screen will not stop you.
UWELL publishes almost nothing numeric about this device
The battery and the screen size are the only figures on UWELL’s own page. No wattage minimum, no dimensions, no weight, no charging rating, no charge time, no cartridge capacity, no resistance list.
The gap gets filled with guesswork, in Kenya and everywhere else: three different heights are in circulation, and a quoted weight of 128 grams, for a 120mm aluminium pod device, is almost certainly the boxed parcel rather than the thing itself. There is no weight in the table below for that reason.
Liquid: one ratio, four strengths
Nicotine salt at 50/50, and nothing high in VG. What changes across the four cartridges is the strength, not the ratio: twenty milligrams suits the 0.9 and 1.2 ohm, ten suits the 0.6 and 0.4. On a cell this size, a 30ml bottle such as Nasty Burst Nic Salt 30ml from the Nicotine Salts shelf earns its place over a 10ml one.
Nothing on this shelf wants a high-VG sub-ohm liquid. Thirty-five watts through a sealed cartridge is not the same job as sixty watts through a mesh coil in a glass tank.
Whether the screen is the reason
Largest pod-kit battery here, largest screen here, same power ceiling as the other three GPP devices. If the screen is not the reason you are buying, the standard G4 does the same vaping for less complication.
Note that UWELL also makes a G4 Pro Koko and a G4 Classic. Those are different devices from this one, and the names are close enough to matter when ordering.
Setting it up on day one
Two cartridges ship with the kit, a 0.4 and a 0.6 ohm. Fill one, stand it for five minutes, take a couple of draws without firing, and only then turn the device on. A sealed cartridge fired dry is a cartridge wasted.
Then spend two minutes in the menu before you spend two hours in it. Set the language, set the wattage inside the band for the cartridge you fitted, and leave Custom mode until you know what the device tastes like on Storm.
