What this one offers instead is capacity you can trust. Three thousand five hundred milliamp-hours sits exactly at the established ceiling for an 18650, which is where the honest cells live.
What it fits, and what it does not

The arithmetic that turns amps into watts
The formula every mod owner should know: safe watts equals the cell's continuous rating, multiplied by the number of cells, multiplied by three point two volts, multiplied by nought point nine for chip efficiency.
Three point two volts rather than the nominal three point six, because a regulated mod draws more current as the battery empties and the worst case is a nearly flat cell.
Ten amps gives about twenty-nine watts from a single cell and about fifty-eight from a pair. Run the sum backwards, and it tells you what a mod demands: eighty watts from one cell needs around twenty-eight amps, a hundred and seventy-seven from two needs about thirty-one each, and two hundred and twenty from two needs thirty-eight each. This cell holds ten.
What the independent tester says, which is stricter still
Vapcell rates this cell at ten amps continuous and twenty amps maximum. The independent battery tester whose bench results the trade generally works from accepted the ten-amp figure on the Molicel-branded version of this cell and then recommended staying at five to seven amps in use, roughly fifteen to twenty-one watts, to reduce voltage sag and extend cell life.
That is a usage recommendation rather than a re-rating, and it is worth following. One UK seller applies it directly and lists the cell at seven amps.
Two things this page will not claim. There is no published bench test of the Vapcell-wrapped cell itself, only of the Molicel-branded one carrying the same model number. And Vapcell nowhere state that this is a Molicel rewrap, although they sell the Molicel-branded M35A alongside it.
Why 3500mAh is the number to trust, and 4000mAh is not
Mainstream 18650 cells from the companies that actually manufacture them top out around three thousand five hundred milliamp-hours. This cell is at that ceiling rather than above it, and independent measurement of the Molicel-branded version came back at three thousand four hundred and eighty-two and three thousand five hundred and three, which is the rated figure delivered.
That matters because the other high-capacity 18650 on this shelf, the Efest IMR 18650 4000mAh 10A Battery, prints a number above the established ceiling for the format with no independent test behind it. Same ten amps, same job, different confidence in the capacity. If runtime is what you are buying, this is the better-evidenced cell of the two.
Sources disagree slightly on the minimum. Vapcell print three thousand four hundred; Molicel's own datasheet for the same model says three thousand three hundred and fifty. Both are below the typical figure, which is normal and is what minimum means.
Charging without shortening its life
Molicel's datasheet gives a maximum charge current of one point seven amps for this cell. Vapcell advertise a quick-charge current of three point five amps on the same model. Where two sources disagree on a charging limit, the conservative one is the defensible one, so treat one point seven amps as the ceiling and charge below it.
Half an amp to one amp on an external charger is the sensible setting and does the cell no harm at all. An external charger with independent bays also keeps a pair matched in a way in-mod charging cannot, because it treats each cell separately.
Charge indoors, on a hard surface, and not unattended overnight. Never leave a lithium cell on a trickle charger.
Wraps, rings and the things that actually cause accidents
The metal case of this cell is electrically live and connected to the negative terminal. The plastic wrap and the white insulator ring around the positive end are the only things stopping it from touching the positive contact. A torn wrap or a nicked ring is not cosmetic.
If a wrap is damaged, stop using the cell. A proper heat-shrink sleeve and a fresh insulator ring restore it; tape does not, and a taped cell is a cell waiting to short.
Never carry a bare cell loose in a pocket or bag. A coin or a key across the terminals shorts it, and a shorted 18650 goes into thermal runaway with no warning. A plastic case prevents the most common real accident in this category.
Buying in pairs, and keeping them together
For a dual-battery mod, buy both cells at once, of the same brand and the same model. Charge them together, use them together, and never mix them with other cells. Pairing is a property of the cells rather than of the mod, and a set has to be created from new cells together.
Mismatched cells in series discharge unevenly, and the weaker one is driven hardest, which can push it below its safe cut-off. Mark them A and B on the wraps and always return them to the same slots.
