Eighty watts without a loose battery
Eighty watts is normally where a device starts asking you to buy separate batteries. Two devices here reach it without doing so, and this is the larger-celled of the pair: three thousand milliamp-hours against the SMOK Nord 5 Pod Mod Kit 2000mAh 80W’s two thousand, and nothing to unscrew, charge externally or match up.
It belongs to VOOPOO’s Argus line and not the Drag line, which is a styling distinction more than a technical one: same chipset, same platform, same coils as the Drag pod mods, in a heavier and more rugged body.
A lock switch you can feel
The Argus Pro 2 has a physical lock switch. Set it to the required position and check the lock state before carrying the device. Compare VOOPOO Drag S3 Pod Mod Kit 3000mAh 60W.
Turbo mode, and how to read the claim
Alongside Smart and RBA, there is a Turbo mode, which VOOPOO markets as a twenty-five per cent increase in vapour volume in one second. That is a manufacturer marketing claim rather than a measured figure.
The Argus Pro 2 has a maximum output of 80W. Its 0.15 ohm coil is rated for 60–80W.
The same PnP X coils as four other devices here
VOOPOO PnP X Replacement Coils run from 0.15 ohm at sixty to eighty watts, through 0.3 ohm at thirty-two to forty, to 0.6 ohm at eighteen to twenty-three for mouth-to-lung use. The coil presses into whichever cartridge is fitted.
The Argus Pro 2 takes PnP X coils. Original PnP and PnP VM coils are not compatible.
What eighty watts needs in the tank
The kit listing describes a 0.15Ω PnP X coil, rated at 60–80W for DTL use. Choose liquid suited to the fitted cartridge or tank, coil and operating power. Follow the marked coil band and exact liquid/device guidance for ratio and concentration. Avoid high-strength nicotine salts in high-power DTL use; resistance alone does not establish a universal nicotine concentration. Low-strength 70/30 freebase options can be compared against the exact fitted coil’s instructions; no single universal 3mg requirement is established.
The E-Liquids shelf is the right one, in a bottle size that respects a five-millilitre cartridge at eighty watts. Ultimate Juice 120ml and Nasty Juice 60ml both fit the ratio. Swap to the MTL cartridge with a 0.6 ohm coil, and it becomes a salt device again, at which point the Nicotine Salts shelf is the right one.
Choosing a compatible cartridge
The Argus Pro 2 uses a PnP X DTL cartridge with separate PnP X coils. Choose the exact supported cartridge when buying a replacement.
Fill the cartridge through its side-fill port, then close the stopper securely.
Two devices at eighty watts, and how they differ
Eighty watts is the ceiling for a sealed battery on this shelf, and two devices sit at it. Against the SMOK Nord 5 Pod Mod Kit 2000mAh 80W, this has half again as much cell and a coil platform four other devices share; against the VOOPOO Drag X3 Pod Mod Kit 80W, it reaches the same power without asking you to buy anything else.
The Nord 5 and Drag X3 also list up to 80W; the Nord 5 has a sealed battery, while the Drag X3 takes a removable cell. Other listed pod mods include 60W models. The Drag 5 and Armour Max mod kits have higher device ceilings and require separate batteries; each fitted coil still has its own operating band.
The first coil on an eighty-watt device
Fit, prime and fill the exact PnP X coil and supported cartridge according to their instructions. Observe the specified first-fill wait before activation; do not fire a dry wick.
The supplied 0.15Ω PnP X coil is rated for 60–80W. Use a setting within its supported band and follow first-use instructions; no particular starting setting guarantees a weekend lifespan.
