Three thousand milliamp-hours, and nothing to unscrew
Three thousand milliamp-hours sealed into a pod mod, which is as much battery as anything here that does not take a separate cell. If the reason you are looking at a mod is that you are tired of charging, this is the answer that does not involve buying batteries and a charger as well.
The trade-off against its external-battery twin is straightforward: sixty watts against eighty, a button screen against a touchscreen, and a device you plug in against one you feed.
The capacitive lock, and the fact you can switch it off
The S3 unlocks on skin contact instead of a button press, which sounds like a gimmick until a device fires in a bag. Uniquely among the pair, the S3 lets you disable it; the VOOPOO Drag X3 Pod Mod Kit 80W does not.
That is a small thing that becomes a large one if the sensor and your hands disagree. Worth knowing before choosing between the two.
PnP X, and what carries over
Same platform as four other devices here. VOOPOO PnP X Replacement Coils run from 0.15 ohm through to 1.0 ohm, seated in either the DTL or the MTL cartridge, and the whole family works across the Argus Pro 2, both Drag S models, the X3 and the Drag 5.
One caveat about VOOPOO’s own paperwork: their PnP X cartridge page still lists only the older S2 and X2 as compatible and has not been updated for this device. The platform is the same, and the parts do interchange, but VOOPOO have not said so themselves.
Liquid: it depends on which cartridge is fitted
Two answers, and the cartridge picks between them. With the MTL cartridge and a coil above 0.6 ohm, it is a salt device at 50/50. With the DTL cartridge and a 0.2 or 0.3 ohm coil running at forty watts and above,e it is a freebase device at 70/30, three milligrams.
On a 3000mAh device you will get through liquid, so one of the larger bottles sold in Kenya earns its place over a ten-millilitre one. Look at Ultimate Puff 120ml or Doozy Vape Co 100ml on the E-Liquids shelf, both of which come at the ratio a direct-lung coil needs.
What VOOPOO leave out contradicts
No weight is published for this device. The chipset appears on VOOPOO’s own storefront but not on their main product page. Pass-through is unstated.
And VOOPOO contradict themselves on the screen: their product pages and comparison guide say 0.96 inches, while one of their own blog posts says 1.08. Nought point nine six is the figure to take; it is the one their specification pages carry.
Against its twin, and against the Argus
Three thousand milliamp-hours is the largest sealed cell on this shelf, matched only by the VOOPOO Argus Pro 2 Pod Mod Kit 3000mAh 80W, which carries the same battery and twenty watts more in a heavier body on the same platform.
Against the VOOPOO Drag S2 Pod Mod Kit 2500mAh 60W, it is the newer generation with five hundred more milliamp-hours and the same ceiling. Coils and cartridges move freely between all three.
Which coils actually arrive
VOOPOO publish 0.6 and 0.8 ohm as the supplied pair on both of their own websites. Kits sold in other regions have arrived with 0.2 and 0.3 instead, which fits the MTL and DTL kit split rather than contradicting it, so the carton in your hand is the authority, not a specification sheet.
Worth knowing either way: 0.8 ohm PnP X sits outside the resistances listed as replacements, so if your unit arrives with one, plan the next coil around 0.6.
Day one on a 3000mAh device
Charge it fully before the first session; a large cell shipped part-charged behaves oddly until it has seen one full cycle. Then prime: coil into the cartridge, a few drops on the cotton, fill, five minutes standing, and only then fire it.
Set the mode before the flavour. Smart will read the coil and pick a sensible wattage, which is where to leave it for the first day; RBA is for once you know what you are adjusting away from.
