The device that started the PnP X platform
The S2 is where VOOPOO launched PnP X, the coil platform that four other devices on this shelf now share. Twenty-five hundred milliamp-hours, sixty watts, a colour screen and a five-millilitre cartridge. A straightforward pod mod that happens to sit at the centre of the largest consumable ecosystem on this shelf.
Buying into a platform matters more than buying into a device. Whatever you replace this with later, if it is a VOOPOO pod mod, the coils almost certainly carry over.
Two cartridges, and they are genuinely different devices
PnP X comes in a DTL cartridge and an MTL cartridge, and which one you fit changes what this is. VOOPOO PnP X DTL Pod Cartridge 5ml with a low-resistance coil makes a warm direct-lung device; VOOPOO PnP X MTL Pod Cartridge 5ml with a higher-resistance coil makes a tight cigarette-like one.
The MTL cartridge accepts only the higher-resistance coils, which is deliberate; a wide coil in a tight cartridge floods it. Very few devices here can be both things properly, and this is one.
PnP X is not PnP, in either direction.
The coil is VOOPOO PnP X Replacement Coils, and it will not fit an original PnP pod. Nor will an original PnP coil fit a PnP X cartridge. The base connection is different, and the two platforms are deliberately separate.
The VOOPOO Drag H40 Pod Mod Kit 1500mAh 40W on this same shelf is the original PnP device, and it is the only one here that is. If you own both, you are buying two coil families.
Two cartridges, two completely different bottles
Entirely dependent on the cartridge, and this is the device that makes that clearest. MTL cartridge, 0.6 ohm, around twenty watts: a salt at 50/50, from the Nicotine Salts shelf. DTL cartridge, 0.2 ohm, fifty watts: freebase at 70/30 and three milligrams, from the E-Liquids shelf.
Those are not two settings on one device so much as two devices sharing a body. Getting the liquid wrong in either direction is the most common reason a good pod mod gets abandoned in a drawer.
What VOOPOO do not publish
No weight and no reliable dimensions from VOOPOO for this model, and no charging input rating on their main product page. Figures circulate and mostly agree with each other, but none of them is a manufacturer number.
There is no pass-through: the device does not fire while charging. And some circulating specification sheets list the airflow as fixed, which contradicts VOOPOO itself. It is adjustable by rotating the top cap of the cartridge.
Living with a 2500mAh pod mod
Twenty-five hundred milliamp-hours at sixty watts is a full day for most people and comfortably more at the MTL end, where the device is drawing a fraction of what it can. ECO mode extends that further by trimming the output when the cell runs low, which is more useful than it sounds on a device you carry all day, and in Kenya that is most days.
Charging is over USB Type-C at two amps and takes about an hour from flat. Keep it out of direct sun: a sealed lithium cell in a hot car is the fastest way to age any device on this shelf, and Nairobi parking makes that a real concern and not a theoretical one.
The entry point to a five-device platform
It is the lowest-capacity PnP X device here and the plainest route onto the platform. The VOOPOO Drag S3 Pod Mod Kit 3000mAh 60W is its direct successor with a larger cell and the same sixty-watt ceiling; the VOOPOO Argus Pro 2 Pod Mod Kit 3000mAh 80W adds twenty watts on top of that.
None of that strands anything. Every PnP X coil and cartridge you buy for this device runs in all of them.
The first coil, and how long PnP X lasts
Press the coil into the cartridge, wet the exposed cotton with a few drops, fill, refit and wait five minutes. Skipping that on a sub-ohm coil finishes the coil before you have tasted the liquid.
VOOPOO rate a PnP X coil at around a hundred millilitres of liquid before it needs changing. That is their own best case and not a promise, but it is the only life figure any manufacturer on this shelf publishes, and it is the reason a pod mod is less demanding to keep running than a sealed-pod kit.
